Johnny Cupcakes presents Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure
Coolidge Corner Theatre
In 1985, Tim Burton forged a trinity with Phil Hartman and Paul Reubens to create Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, a film that has all the goods: a Rube Goldberg breakfast-making machine, a dramatic showdown at a dinosaur park, and a trucker phantom named Large Marge, whose heart-stopping claymation visage still serves as nightmare fuel for many a child of the ’80s. Among those now-grown children is Johnny Cupcakes, purveyor of pastry-bedecked streetwear. He hosts tonight’s Coolidge Corner Theatre screening and comes bearing hand-wrought limited-edition T’s for the occasion, at 290 Harvard St, Brookline | 11:55 pm | $9 | 617.734.2501 or //www.coolidge.org.
