5. Flower (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Built by a two-person team at indie developer thatgamecompany, Flower (PlayStation Network) starts as a calm and meditative experience. The premise: you're guiding floating flower petals along a breeze and helping to bring more flora to life. Almost entirely directed by the motion-sensitive Sixaxis controller, the aerodynamics feel just right. And when steel structures start to intrude on your idyll, Flower ends up packing a wallop, making a potent statement about environmentalism without beating you over the head with it.
