| Eva Longoria Parker and Paul Rudd
 | TV stars Eva Longoria Parker (Desperate Housewives) and Lake Bell (Boston Legal) find life after TV in this beyond-the-grave rom-com. Longoria Parker’s Kate is an angel from Hell (an ice sculpture crushed her at her own wedding) channeled by Bell’s perky psychic, Ashley. Kate doesn’t want Ashley to get involved with Henry (Paul Rudd), Kate’s former fiancé, and a celestial cat fight of sorts breaks out. Kate can’t lay a wing on Ashley, but she can jabber incessantly and deprive her — and us — of sleep. The two actresses are game for whatever comic potential might come their way, and there are in fact some witty twists, but Jeff Lowell’s direction has an embalming effect. The relationship between Henry and Kate, meanwhile, has no pulse at all, and Jason Biggs as a gay man inept in the kitchen is as funny as a heart attack. 95 minutes | Boston Common + Fenway + Fresh Pond + Circle + suburbs
