GHOST BOX ORCHESTRA

CLASS OF 2012 TRACK "VANISHED" [Listen] [Download]

They've been creating a mind-melting acid-rock drone since 2008, but Ghost Box Orchestra gained traction in Boston and beyond in the past year as part of our city's burgeoning psych scene alongside the New Highway Hymnal, December Sound, and the bi-annual Deep Heaven Now festival in Somerville. In April 2011, GBO were invited by the Black Angels to take their desert-rock psychedelia to Texas for Austin Psych Fest 4, filling the abandoned '50s Seaholm Power Plant with improvisational instrumental rock riffage and spell-casting. A few months later, GBO released a cassette of drones, jams, and demos — the follow-up to 2010's hypnotic The Only Light On — and a new record is expected this April, but not before they head south in March for a gig with Prince Rama and Psychic Ills in New Orleans and then crash SXSW.
