Many questions will be answered at Sunday night's highly-anticipated BOSTON MUSIC AWARDS party at the swank-ass Liberty Hotel. Among the hot topics...
-- Can our favorite rapping Town-ie SLAINE take home as many as five BMAs (for Artist, Album/EP, Song, Video and Hip Hop Artist of the Year)?
-- Can thrice-nominated indie rock risers MEAN CREEK score an Artist-of-the-Year sweep in both the Phoenix 2011 Best Music Poll and these here BMAs?
-- Will DOM actually show up?
-- Will there be opportunities to get high without waiting 20 minutes for the cattle-car elevators? (Note: I'm told side-stairway use will be permitted!)
-- And most importantly, will YOU be able to locate the hotel guest room where we'll be throwing our not-so-secret party?
That's right, we're throwing a fucking room party at the BMAs, fist-flying ninja style, broadcasting BOSTON ACCENTS live on-air from 8 to 10pm. And you don't have to be Steven Tyler to come hang with us under the bed sheets (which we're sure are wicked posh, khed).
Around 7pm Sunday, we'll tweet out the room number via our BA twitter, @BostonAccentsMA. Follow that shit now so you're kept in the know.
We'll have nominated artists swing by throughout the night's festivities (Tell us how you're feeling, Miss Desmond?), we'll announce the winners around 9:45pm, and maybe -- just maybe -- we'll have some unplugged live performances right there in the room, live from the minibar or bathroom tub.
It's sure to be a shitshow of epic proportions, and we'd love for you to slide your proverbial room key in our dirty little slot.
If you're not attending the BMAs, pretend you're there -- minus the $10 cocktails -- by listening to WFNX 101.7 FM or streaming online at wfnx.net to hear us get wasted and say stupid shit over the airwaves. As usual, we'll be spinning the best in Boston rock + pop, via magical hamster wheel and Nintendo Powerglove, but we'll be cutting in here and there with BMA updates and surveys of the a city's music scene all packed together in one upscale venue that wouldn't welcome us on any other night.
It's rock and roll. Here are the 2011 BMAs nominees:
